BIA and the U.S. DEA seized three tons of cocaine

Members of the Security-Information Agency and U.S. Agency for fight against drugs DEA in a joint action yesterday confiscated 2.8 tons of cocaine in international waters in the Atlantic Ocean on the main way of smuggling the drugs from South America to Europe.

According to initial estimates, the value of the seized cocaine is approximately 120 million euros, while the street market was worth around 250 million euros.

National Security Council said Serbia last night that the seized cocaine was intended for the European market.

BIA and the U.S. DEA jointly did the action, after the exchange of information about this case. . The competent authorities of Serbia, in cooperation with the Special Prosecutor for Organized Crime, continue the investigation, said in a statement.
